FORECLOSURE  For many home owners, that word has become more than just a distant threat!  There may be many reasons why you are faced with the possibility or threat of losing your home.  You lost your job.  A member of the family needs medical care.  The bank raised your interest rates.  This is happening to people who never expected to be in this position. If you are faced with this problem you should talk to an attorney.  It is best to talk to an attorney as soon as the bank sends the first threatening letter.  If you did not do that, you should call an attorney as soon as you receive papers from the Court.  DO NOT IGNORE the papers.  An attorney will be able to help.

There are many books available that can help explain your rights.  They should not take the place of contacting an attorney but  a good book may give you some insight.  These books provide some good information and will help you understand what is going on:

ADVANCE DIRECTIVES

We are all aware of the importance of letting people know what we want to happen in the event of a medical catastrophe.  A living will tells doctors and family members what your wishes are.  You can contact our offices and we can prepare these documents for you.  To go to a site where you can download  FREE advance directives and living will forms, click HERE  or on the link in the left hand column

SEXUAL PREDATORS

Ohio and most other states have adopted laws that require that sexual predators and sexual offenders register with local law enforcement authorities when they move into a neighborhood.  For a list of places where you can find information on sexual offenders in your community, click HERE or on the the link in the left hand column.

CRIMINAL LAW

Our communities are functional because the majority of us choose to obey the laws.  It seems at times that there are laws that cover so many things that it is hard to know what the laws are.  When you do not know the law, you can break one without even being aware that you did.

If you break a law, you may be charged with a crime!  If you are charged, you should talk to a lawyer first!  Cooperation with the police is usually a good thing but there is a time and place and you should have legal counsel to help you with that cooperation.  An attorney experienced in criminal cases can help!
